God doesn't play dice sanny @ 10:57 AM

It's been ages since my last entry I know, this is partly due to the-computer-which-is-connected-to-the-modem being stricken with what my siblings and I decided to call the 'hansap'(horny) virus. Think it's due to Edric and James surfing all those gaming or star wars websites which affliate themselves with stupid spywares.

Speaking of Star Wars, all of you who haven't watched it by now, what are you doing here? Kidding. But seriously, even for a non-fan (is there such a word?) like me, I enjoyed it loads. I think, judging by the explanations in the movie at least, I would prefer Siths to Jedi. Because, apparently, Siths (Darth Mole, Darth Vader, Darth Mercedes etc) draw their powers from passion while Jedis (Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Obi-Two Kentucky etc) draw theirs from detachment of desires (very much like monks). I've always thought that driven is better than relentance. Plus, Hayden Christensen looks bloody hot in the film, okay? And he has great chemistry with Natalie Portman (though a bit siao but still, passionate beats tepid anytime. So yes, let me come to the Dark Side). As my friend put it, he looks good 'cos he's got nice eyes. And he's tall (185 cm). I've a weakness for tall, proportionate guys (not gigantic ones ok, that type is a source of curiosity for me, right Mar? Remember the giant at McD's hehe).

Speaking of guys, Edric, James and I watched the FA Cup Final between Manchester United and Arsenal on Saturday because there's no other good programmes on TV. This was the start of me and James' 'emotional baggage' phase (because Edric didn't watch the full match so he didn't feel the injustice). I have this thing about injustices in soccer. Like how Corea slithered their way in 2002, like how two certain Scandinavian nations 'coincidentally' (like I'd believe you schemers! Eat my chao-ta potatoes!) kicked out their competitor. Anyway, the match went sort of like this:

Man United dominated proceedings but it seemed that, through their own fault as well, they didn't convert the myriad of chances created and in the end the game had to go to extra time and penalties. I mentioned that if it were to go to penalties, Arsenal would win because the goalie had lots of practice during the match (plus the United keeper's lousy). Regretfully, they really did win because Paul Scholes' (who had asthma and thus, according to James, 'cannot make it') shot was blocked. Both of us were in a really bad mood after the result not because we're Man Utd supporters but because some Arsenal players were really uncouth during the match (especially that si wen bai lei who's rightfully red-carded - I won't mention names, he's the Spanish who dared to put on an 'innocent'-innocent my foot- face after he elbowed another foreigner till he bled) and it seemed like such a great injustice when they won! Not quite the same feeling when Greece won but still it sucks all the same.

All throughout Sunday we became very listless and forlorn (though what for I don't know, it's pointless really, not as if we're affliated with the team or what). Albert Einstein had said this gem before 'God doesn't play dice with the universe'. If so, what's the rationale with this 'injustice'? Maybe there's a terminally ill Arsenal fan who's cured due to joy, who knows? Call me selfish, short-sighted. If I see it doesn't work out the way I want to, I call it injustice. Not that I really cared for Man Utd or what but James and I felt 'it just wasn't right!' . So yesterday while we're at United Square (yes har-haw the shopping centre near our house just happens to be called that) we couldn't stop moaning and moaning. Anyway, there's another game, the Champions League match between AC Milan and Liverpool. I like AC Milan but I hope for a Liverpool win, because I sympathise with Steven Gerrard, a.k.a. Marissa's cow 'moo-moo' bolster.

Actually on Saturday I also had the misfortune to see some very shameless, disgusting dance by some guys whom I believed were in a stupor and thought they're Calvin Klein models. Xinyi and I almost puked. I won't go into details because it's not worth elaborating on something so blasphemic but let's just say that's another reason why Singapore is a turn-off. I wonder if God's tinkering with his dice pieces now. If it was really so, I hope he throws a nice one for me so I wouldn't feel so miffed.
