by an eldest child of no importance
Being the eldest child in the family is a blessing, so you shouldn't complain.
When no one listens to you, don't fret, because at the very least, your parents still did listen to you, when you were the only child.
When you did well and no one gives you credit because you're expected to excel, don't sigh, for at least you know you've set a good example.
When you did something bad and scolded upon for setting a poor example, don't lament, for at least others don't have to go through what you went through and their lives will be happier because of you.
When you get blamed for things you didn't commit, don't be bitter, because it's through others' mistakes and compassion that you can learn to be the most magnanimous of people.
When everyone seems to pine their hopes on you, don't be weighed down, for it means you're given the chance to make so many happy.
When nobody appreciates you, don't be downhearted, for you'll learn not to treat others so and be a harbinger of joy.
When your younger siblings have tasted happiness you have not, don't dismay, for the harsher the wait, the sweeter the gains.
When fortune seems to turn her back at you, don't grieve, for through it all you know you can bite any bullet and remain unscathed.
When you have no shoulder to cry on, don't mourn, for it'll make you a stronger person and in turn you can be the rock others can rely on.
When nobody's there to guide you, don't worry, for then you're free to walk your own desired path.
When you're forced to submit to others' will, don't demur, for your acquiescence'll bring bliss to many more people.
When you feel that everything seems unfair, don't despair, for you'll learn to embrace even the simplest of graces and treat every day as a miracle.
When you're not pampered like others, don't whine, for it simply means you can be selfish just that once in a while and entitle yourself to spoils only you deserve.
Being the eldest child in the family is a blessing, so you shouldn't complain, because you can always wear rose-tinted glasses and be content just the way you are.
Blythe doll demonstrating how to wear glasses. Ok it's not rose-tinted but it's still tinted.

I'm speaking specifically with respect our own sitch. Hmm...just today I have a seething hate towards last-borns. They're brats through and through.
I just seem to get the stick for like almost everything. :(
